What is Daśa Mahāvidyā?
Daśa (Sanskrit for 10) mahā (great) vidyā (knowledge) is the worship of ten goddesses or manifestations of the Divine Feminine. These ten goddesses represent various aspects of the Supreme Goddess or Adi Parāśakti (primordial source of all energy).
What are the 10 forms of Goddess Shakti we will study?
In this course we will deep dive into the mystical teachings of the following divine feminine forms: Kāli, Tara, Tripura Sundari (Shodashi), Bhuvaneshvari, Chinnamastā, Bhairavi, Dumavati, Baglāmukhi, Mātangi and Kamalā. These all protect us in the 10 directions (8 directions of the compass, above and below).
Each Goddess encompasses Her own qualities and represents distinct aspects of divinity. They represent various stages of inner awakening on the spiritual path.
We will learn the sacred mantra for each Goddess and meditation on the corresponding yantra.
